Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at info@campsabroad.co.uk if you cannot find an answer to your question.

All campers must be between the ages of 7- 17 years old at the time of travel.

Nooo! The purpose of our camps are for young people to interact with other global young people their age. Children may be accompanied by a chaporone, however, whilst they will be on hand, they will not be able to participate with the actual children's activities.

Staying safe is our highest priority and so we NEVER compromise with this. Our camp leaders are all experienced and trained in first aid. All camps have small leader:child ratios, 24 hour security, full-time medical personnel, a trained chef, and emergency procedures for just about every scenario imaginable.

Yes! Whilst at camp, we form a parent whatsapp group that keeps you up to date with what your child is up to throughout each day. Network coverage is not always good in some areas, however you will always have a direct telephone number to a camp facilitator, so that if necessary, you or your child can call. We do allow phones, however these are for the primary purpose of taking pictures as the focus is on connecting with nature and other people. We keep the campers too busy throughout the day enjoying game safari's or learning how to build traditional mudhuts to be on their phones.

The package price is for camp only. Campers are expected to arrange their own flights to the camp destination. Where there are internal flights to take, and especially where there are unaccompanied minors travelling, we can usually arrange for a camp representative to meet your child from their long haul international flight from the U.S. and escort them on any internal flights to the camp base.

We highly recommend purchasing your own travel insurance to protect against unforeseen circumstances.

Once you are registered for one of our camps, we will provide a comprehensive packing list to assist your child in preparing for travel.

All our camp destination countries do not require a visa for U.S. citizens. For any other passport holders, please consult your country's embassy.

Although it is not required by the country that you are travelling to, you may wish to have vaccinations, please consult your family doctor in the first instance.
